AImageLab and AMD Silo AI Announce Multi-Year Technology Alliance in Robotics and Multimodal AI
Press

We are excited to share a major milestone for our lab. AImageLab at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore) has entered into a broad, multi-year technology alliance with AMD Silo AI, spanning robotics and multimodal AI — with ambitions to extend into additional domains over time.

The collaboration is anchored at AImageLab and opens with two concrete pillars: a World Models Foundry, a shared research infrastructure aimed at advancing generative models of the physical world; and an open-source Vision-Language-Action (VLA) stack for robotics and autonomous driving, with demos and toolkits optimized for AMD Instinct™ GPUs.

Generative Bionics, a leading Italian company specializing in the design and deployment of full-stack humanoid systems for real-world applications, joins the Foundry as a founding industry member — bridging cutting-edge research with working robotic platforms and ensuring outputs are validated in real operational settings.

The initiative is also embedded within the broader European AI ecosystem, aligned with MINERVA — the European Support Centre for Scalable AI Research and Deployment — and the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking's AI Factories, reinforcing our commitment to open, sovereign, and impactful European AI research.

We look forward to sharing results, open-source tools, and demos in the coming months. Read the full announcement from AMD Silo AI at the link below.
