We are pleased to announce that AImageLab is a partner in ELLE - the European Doctoral Network on Secure and Safe Artificial Intelligence in the Age of Foundation Models - funded by the European Commission through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks 2025 call, with a total budget of €4.5 million.
ELLE brings together leading European academic institutions and industry partners to train 15 doctoral researchers over 48 months, tackling one of the most pressing open challenges in modern AI:
- ensuring that large-scale foundation models are safe, secure, and trustworthy by design. The network covers a broad range of interconnected topics, including adversarial robustness, alignment,
- interpretability, and the governance of AI systems — areas that are increasingly critical as foundation models are deployed in real-world applications.
AImageLab's involvement reflects the lab's long-standing research commitment to responsible AI, spanning work on deepfake detection, safety alignment in vision-language models, and controllable generative systems. Through ELLE, the lab will contribute its expertise in multimodal foundation models and host doctoral researchers working at the intersection of AI safety and large-scale visual and language understanding.
